Bose® QuietComfort® 2 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Headphones
| These exceptionally comfortable headphones offer full-spectrum noise reduction along with renowned Bose audio reproduction-the result of years of research and development. The headphones reduce office noise, the clatter of commuter trains, or the effects of airline engine sound during flight-all while delivering the crisp, true audio for which Bose is famous. Research studies have confirmed a link between noise, human fatigue, and symptoms of stress, proving that noise levels may severely affect the way you feel. The headphones are streamlined for more convenient travel, the earcups fold flat for better portability, and the on/off switch is on the earphone itself for easier activation. Improved noise reduction and audio performance results in lifelike sound and full bass without the artificial enhancement of "bass boost" found on most headphones. Soft ear cushions increase the comfort of wearing the headphones for extended periods, and each ergonomically designed earcup swivels into position to fit the ear. Includes carrying case, 5' extension cord, and adapters for airline audio jacks and home stereo. Requires one AAA battery for 35 hours of use. 7 3/4" H x 6 1/2" W. (7 oz.) |

Chelsea Shipstrike Clock
| Made in Massachusetts by the Chelsea Company whose specialty clocks have been used in an impressive variety of scientific recording instruments for well over a 100 years. Donald MacMillan used a number of Chelsea clocks to record the magnetism at the North Pole, and Admiral Byrd used their clocks for recording temperature, pressure and humidity on his South Pole expedition. Seventeen Presidents, from Woodrow Wilson to Bill Clinton, have purchased a Chelsea clock for personal use or as a gift for visiting dignitaries. The shipstrike clock is one of their most popular editions. Unlike other clocks, it chimes the time based upon the workday routine of a ship's crew. This bell code dates back hundreds of years, when ships at sea required a crew on constant watch, twenty-four hours day. For duty assignments, the day was broken up into six watches of four hours each. The watch officer would strike the ship's bell at half hour intervals: one bell at 12:30, two bells at 1:00, three bells at 1:30 and so on; eight bells marked the end of the watch at 4, 8 and 12 o'clock. The clock sits on a solid mahogany base. Five jewel, German movement. Key wound. Forged brass with a six-inch, aluminum dial. Hinged bezel to facilitate winding. Clock: 7 1/2" Diam. x 3 1/2" D. Base: 4" W. (13 lbs.) Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Premium or Express delivery is not available for this item. |

Geochron World Clock
| Used by NASA to aid in satellite tracking and by the Pentagon to synchronize troop deployment, this full-color moving map shows at a glance what time it is throughout the world. The 15 x 26-inch map revolves within its frame at precisely the same speed as the earth's rotation and continuously displays what areas of the earth lie in daylight or darkness. The analog dial system automatically charts the time in the world's 40 time zones on a 24-hour scale. Backlit by two 15-watt fluorescent tubes, a set of cam-driven, light-diffusing, flexible mylar panels produce an illuminated gray pattern that slowly adjusts with the seasons (and daylight savings time). The map shows the exact global location of daylight and darkness, the duration of daylight/darkness and the moment of sunrise and sunset. A moving calendar displays the date both right and left of the international date line and also day of the week and month. Black laminate exterior finish cleans with soft cloth. Glass panel over map. Aluminum housing. Geochron's time zone map can be updated. Surface brackets included. Plugs into household outlet. UL listed. Instructions included. Overall: 34 1/4" W x 22 3/8" x 5" D. (28 lbs.)
